It's clear that democracy and gun are interlinked, democracy ended WW1 and started WW2. The crimean-war of 1853-56 seem to have started a weaponsrace until the end of the american civil war in 1865 as significant as in WW1 and WW2.
Because thanks to science there is less reason to talk about the obscure and that is reason to talk more about the magic. But just that could be the growing illusion of the last 200 years, where today terror is at the same level as back 1926, but the level of todays tragedy is like 1892 and 1827.
